Goodyear youth sports open for registration

Fall soccer and volleyball teams are open to Goodyear children ages 3-15. From July 22 to 29, Goodyear residents are exclusively allowed to apply; after July 29, the registration is open to non-residential athletes until the teams are filled.

The teams are recreational and noncompetitive, volunteer-run and designed for new players and returning athletes.

Fall soccer has seven age divisions with coed teams until players turn nine-years-old when teams are separated. Registration fees vary between division.

Soccer practices are set to start the week of Sept. 23 with games played on Saturdays starting Oct. 5. Specific practice schedules are determined by the volunteer coaches. Generally, practices will be 5-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday at the Goodyear Recreation Campus Soccer Fields or Foothills Community Park.

Fall volleyball has three age divisions that are all coed teams. Registration is a flat fee of $90 for Goodyear residents and $110 for non-residents.

Practices begin the week of Sept. 30 with games played on Saturdays starting Oct. 12. Specific practice schedules are determined by the volunteer coaches. Generally, practices are 6-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

All volleyball games and practices take place at schools in the city of Goodyear.
