    Mitchell and Wooten pull ahead in early Maricopa County Attorney race results

    Maricopa County’s election results for County Attorney begins to trickle in with early results lasr updated at 1:15 a.m. July 31. According to the Maricopa County Elections site, Rachel Mitchell is pulling ahead in the republican votes and Tamika Wooten taking the lead among democratic voters.

    Incumbent Mitchell is ahead in republican polling at 57.66% with 182,660 out of 309,341 republican ballots cast. Mitchell is being trailed by Gina Godbehere with 42.34% of democratic votes.

    Democratic nominee Wooten, running unopposed within her party, has 225,459, or 100% of democratic votes.

    As the county attorney, the elected nominee will serve a four-year term, representing the county in legal matters and providing legal counsel to county officers and school districts.

    These preliminary results are only counting mail in ballots and votes made in person will continue to be counted and verified.
