Catherine Thompson's Journey to Become Calhoun's First Female Firefighter
In January of 2024, Calhoun Fire Department graduated a group of seven recruits that went on to join the department’s force and serve Gordon County. One of those seven recruits not only graduated, but broke new ground within the department as the first female firefighter in CFD’s 125-year history. Her name: Catherine Thompson.
