Joyful Jets 4-H Club holds July, August meetings
On July 23, 2024 the Joyful Jets 4-H Club met at Caddie Shack in Greenville for Putt-Putt and a regularly scheduled 4-H meeting. President, Hannah Kendig, called the meeting to order and led the pledges and motto. Secretary, Cheyenne Swisher, did roll call and read minutes from the previous meeting. The Treasurers Report was given by Caleb Wiant.
Multigenerational book club gets a little ‘Rowdy’
Two librarians facilitate discussion, often choose the books. The members include a 100-year-old woman and her daughter as well as her granddaughter and great granddaughter. There are some mother-daughter combos in the group and some sisters. Several members of the local library board attend, as does the city’s mayor.
Tipp Council approves electric substation purchases
Council met for a Study Session on Monday, August 19 at 6:30 P.M, and discussed three topics:. · Woodward Hills water line: two Bethel Township representatives attended the Study Session. They asked Council if Tipp City would be interested in replacing the four-inch water line, installed in 1972, which serves 21 Woodward Hills residents. Tipp supplies water to Woodward Hills. City Manager Eric Mack said the estimated cost to replace the 2.7-mile line, which at one point runs under the Great Miami River, was $2.8M. Mack added that Miami County is installing a water line half-a-mile from Woodward Hills, from which Woodward Hills could obtain water. After some discussion, Council members decided that having Tipp City replace the Woodward Hills water line was not practical and agreed to provide a written document to Bethel Township stating so.
