$778 Checks Still Coming to Homeowners in New York State

Springfield Booster Club Golf Tournament a success
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as they wrapped up an afternoon of golf at Crown Point Country Club for the second annual Booster Club Caddyshack Tournament, in support of Springfield’s student athletes. Funds raised during the tournament continue to support the Springfield Booster Club’s mission to benefit student athletes at Riverside Middle School and Springfield High School. The booster club provides funds for scholarships, individual student equipment needs, and awards, in addition to a multiyear pledge to the Springfield School District to fund the Brown Field bleacher project.
Vermont Woman Missing Since 1993: New Appeal for Information in Audrey Groat Case
Montpelier, VT – Today marks 31 years since the disappearance of Audrey Groat, who vanished on August 21, 1993, after a day of shopping with a friend in Burlington. Groat, 41, was reportedly dropped off at her vehicle at the park and ride near Exit 8 in Montpelier. Her car was later found in the same spot, with her purse discovered in nearby bushes.
Former Bedford Substitute Teacher Arrested
A former substitute teacher in Bedford has been arrested and charged with possession of child sex abuse images. Concord police said 31-year-old Jonathan Harrison was arrested Monday after a monthslong investigation. Police said they learned that Harrison was working as a camp counselor in Maine. Concord and Maine State Police questioned Harrison at the camp, and police said he eventually admitted to downloading the images. School officials said Harrison was placed on unpaid leave and will not be returning to work in the district. The district said there’s no reason to believe any of the images were of children in Bedford schools. Police said they believe the images were sourced from the dark web.
Man’s Brush with Death: Stranded on New Hampshire’s Mount Monadnock After Leg Injury!
JAFFREY, NH – A hiker with an injured leg was safely rescued from New Hampshire’s Mount Monadnock on Sunday, officials said. New Hampshire Fish and Game said the agency was notified shortly before 2:30 p.m. Sunday that a hiker near the summit of Mount Monadnock was injured and required assistance.

By and large his request was honored by those who spoke, but an edge of anger threatened to come to the surface more than once during the two-hour meeting.
New Dairy Creme Owner Plans No Changes
On July 24, Austin Hall of Northfield became the new owner of the landmark Dairy Creme ice cream stand on U.S. Route 2 at the west end of Montpelier after purchasing the popular business from Cliff and Laurie Dodge, who operated it for nearly 28 years and are now retired.
Encampment Dwellers Refuse to Relocate
That was the predominant question during Montpelier’s Aug. 14 City Council meeting concerning a tent encampment created by about a dozen unhoused people that has been increasing in size since the former Elks Club shelter closed May 29. City officials said they are asking, not forcing, those people to move out following some disturbing incidents. However, at least one of those at the camp says he isn’t going anywhere.
