Some New Jersey residents were shaken in their beds early Friday by a small earthquake that rattled parts of the state.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.9 quake struck just before 4 a.m., with an epicenter near Gladstone.

Officials didn’t have any immediate reports of damage in the area.

By 8:30 Friday morning, almost 700 people had filled out the “Did you feel it” survey on the USGS website, with most indicating that they’d felt “moderate” shaking with “very light” damage.

The headline-grabbing earthquake that shook much of the region on April 5th was a magnitude 4.8 and also originated nearby in New Jersey— about 10 miles southwest of Gladstone near Whitehouse Station, according to the USGS.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
