Dotty, age 92, was born at home in Page City, Kansas, on October 30, 1931. She grew up in a family with a strong work ethic. She started her first job at the age of 6 years helping her father who was custodian and cook at the school in Page City. Dotty was an exceptional athlete. All four years of high school she played volleyball for the Page City Bulldogs, graduating in 1949. On May 25, 1950, Dotty Marie Taylor married Merle Dean Hargitt. Together they enjoyed more than 71 years of marriage. Early in the afternoon of May 25, 2024, Dotty made the transition from her earthly home to her heavenly home on what would have been their 74th wedding anniversary—perhaps to be reunited with Merle in the place Jesus promised and prepared for her.

HOXIE, Kan. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the crash of a vintage biplane in northwest Kansas that killed two Colorado residents. The 1934 WACO YKC single-engine biplane crashed into a field around 10 miles (16 kilometers) north of Hoxie in Sheridan County around 6:10 p.m. Sunday, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

With this acquisition, Equity has added to its existing presence in Quinter, Kansas and expanded into Americus, Kansas. KansasLand’s locations open as Equity Bank on July 2. The Company expects to consolidate the core and digital banking systems late in the third quarter. Equity announced the merger with KansasLand 71 days ago on April 22, 2024. Equity has approximately $5.3 billion in proforma consolidated assets and operates 74 locations in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Equity’s Kansas franchise now includes 37 banks. The combination with KansasLand brings Equity’s total strategic transactions to 23 since the Company’s founding in 2002, including 11 whole-bank acquisitions since the Company’s initial public offering in 2015.

HOXIE, Kan. (WIBW) - Two people from Colorado were killed Sunday evening when the vintage airplane they were on crashed in a field in northwest Kansas, authorities said. The crash was reported at 6:10 p.m. Sunday near Road 10 West and Road 100 North, about 10 miles north of Hoxie in Sheridan County.

SHERIDAN COUNTY, Kan. —Two people died in a small plane crash just after 6p.m. Sunday in Sheridan County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a YKC Fixed Wing Single-Engine Airplane piloted by David K. Allen, 78, Elbert, Colorado, was northbound and crashed in a field 10 miles north of Hoxie near Kansas 23 and one mile West on County Road 10.
