Soccer Game Recap: Hughesville Comes Up Short
If Hughesville was feeling good off their 6-1 takedown of Troy on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hughesville Spartans fell 2-0 to the Northumberland Christian Warriors on Saturday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Pennsylvania Man Found Dead Of "Natural Causes" In Kenny Lake, Troopers Say
On 08/26/2024 at approximately 0145 hours, Troopers responded to the Edgerton Highway for a report of a deceased person. Upon further investigation, John George, 72, of Pennsylvania, was found to be deceased. No foul play suspected. The decedent appeared to have died due to natural causes. Next of Kin was notified.

How officials are handling ‘forever chemicals' in water across the region
So-called “forever chemicals” have seeped into people’s drinking water over the decades. Drinking water suppliers across our region are now racing to fix the contamination. The state regulations that do exist are relatively new and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released new standards. The NBC10 investigators went across the tri-state region looking at how towns and schools are handling the contamination of PFAS, or forever chemicals. We found residents trying to come up with their own ways to keep the pollution out of the water they drink-- all while their towns and water operators struggle to meet their own state standards, plus the ticking clock of the new federal standards.
