POCATELLO — A 34-year-old convicted felon was recently arrested after police say he discharged a pistol he illegally possessed through the floor of an apartment building and then eluded officers during a brief vehicle pursuit while driving drunk. REXBURG — A 21-year-old Rexburg man was arrested after a minor reported he had “forcibly” raped her. Garrett Scott Durrant was charged with felony rape of a victim who is 16 or 17 years old, and the perpetrator is three years or more older than the victim.
New park gives downtown Montpelier big boost
MONTPELIER — The recently completed Heritage Park in downtown Montpelier held a ribbon cutting and free concert on Wednesday, August 21. Steve Allred, president of the Montpelier Community Foundation, said the park started as an economic development to refurbish downtown infrastructure with a $500,000 block grant from the Idaho Department of Commerce. The park is located on Washington Street in an area that had fallen into disrepair.
