WVU’s golf program will be well represented at this year’s U.S. Amateur Golf Championship. West Virginia native Todd Duncan became the third Mountaineer golfer to qualify for the sport’s top amateur event. Duncan shot -5 (65) in the first and only round of the Southeastern Amateur qualifying tournament at Country Club of Columbus golf course in Columbus, Georgia.

Authorities arrest suspect in fatal Vienna shooting
VIENNA — A man was arrested Sunday in Harrison County for the murder of a woman in Vienna on Saturday, according to a press release from the Vienna police chief. At approximately 3:57 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, Vienna Police were dispatched to 1000 19th Street Apartment 6, Vienna for an unresponsive person, according to the release from Vienna Police Chief Carl Powell. Officers located a deceased female inside who suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. The individual was located by a family member who immediately contacted 911.

2026 TE McCutchan set for West Virginia visit after offer
Cincinnati (Oh.) Moeller 2026 tight end Cooper McCutchan holds an offer from West Virginia and now plans to take a visit to campus this week. McCutchan, 6-foot-4, 215-pounds, had been in contact with the Mountaineers coaching staff for quite some time but things picked up considerably of late when he was able to speak with tight ends coach Blaine Stewart.
WVU Football fall camp preview: Quarterbacks
It's about that time again, which is crazy because it feels like just yesterday I was writing the spring camp previews. Back then, football preparation was taking a backseat to the pending basketball coaching search. This time around, fall camp will be in the spotlight of the WVU sports world. Today we start the position-by-position preview for preseason camp. The Mountaineers went 9-4 last season, including beating up on UNC in a bowl game that ended with Neal Brown being covered in mayonnaise. West Virginia football enters the 2024 season with significant wind in its sails, so fall camp should be particularly interesting to watch next month.
