The Texas Education Agency released the spring 2024 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness End-of-Course assessment results. The results are from the Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology and U.S. History assessments.
The results were released Friday, June 7 and include district and campus level performance.
Parents or guardians can receive a unique access code from the school and will be able to view their child’s individual results by visiting texasassessment.gov . Results from the STAAR exams for grades 3-8 will be released Friday, June 14.
Within the data is access to an individual students’ academic progress with their answers to each question on the exam.
STAAR exams are graded on four performance levels which from highest to lowest are Masters Grade Level, Meets Grade Level, Approaches Grade Level and Did Not Meet Grade Level. The percentages of students do not equal 100% due to overlap with students under multiple performance levels.

Algebra I
According to the GJHS Algebra I results from spring 2024, of the 24 students tested, 83% (20 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 100% (24 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 100% (24 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and no students were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
Graham High School
Algebra I
According to the GHS Algebra I results from spring 2024, of the 184 students tested, 33% (60 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 58% (107 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 90% (165 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 10% (19 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
English I
According to the GHS English I results from spring 2024, of the 206 students tested, 17% (35 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 59% (122 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 73% (151 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 27% (55 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
English II
According to the GHS English I results from spring 2024, of the 175 students tested, 9% (15 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 59% (104 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 76% (133 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 24% (42 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
Biology
According to the GHS Biology I results from spring 2024, of the 201 students tested, 13% (27 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 58% (116 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 91% (183 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 9% (18 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
U.S. History
According to the GHS U.S. History results from spring 2024, of the 163 students tested, 39% (63 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 71% (116 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 96% (157 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 4% (six students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
Newcastle High School
Algebra I
According to the NHS Algebra I results from spring 2024, of the 16 students tested, 88% (14 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 94% (15 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 94% (15 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 6% (one student) was in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
English I
According to the NHS English I results from spring 2024, of the 21 students tested, 24% (five students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 90% (19 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 95% (20 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 5% (one student) was in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
English II
According to the NHS English I results from spring 2024, of the 26 students tested, 4% (one student) was in the Masters Grade Level, 58% (15 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 77% (20 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 23% (six students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
Biology
According to the NHS Biology I results from spring 2024, of the 21 students tested, 24% (five students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 81% (17 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 100% (21 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and no students were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
U.S. History
According to the NHS U.S. History results from spring 2024, of the 29 students tested, 14% (4 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 55% (16 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 93% (27 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 7% (two students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.

Algebra I
Statewide a total of 467,574 students were tested and of those students tested, 25% (117,206 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 45% (209,069 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 79% (368,780 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 21% (98,794 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
English I
Statewide a total of 488,061 students were tested and of those students tested, 17% (82,842 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 54% (262,385 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 67% (325,861 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 33% (162,200 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
English II
Statewide a total of 464,032 students were tested and of those students tested, 9% (40,073 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 60% (277,563 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 74% (344,940 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 26% (119,092 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
Biology
Statewide a total of 439,226 students were tested and of those students tested, 19% (82,752 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 57% (251,733 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 91% (397,684 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 9% (41,542 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
U.S. History
Statewide a total of 388,338 students were tested and of those students tested, 37% (143,526 students) were in the Masters Grade Level, 69% (268,347 students) were in the Meets Grade Level, 95% (370,549 students) were in the Approaches Grade Level and 5% (17,789 students) were in the Did Not Meet Grade Level.
