GHS to host annual football, volleyball camps in July

Although it feels like summer just began, time moves quickly and Graham High School is preparing to host a couple more youth camps later this month.

In the last week of July, Graham’s Steers and Lady Blues coaching staffs will host youth camps for football and volleyball. Each camp will run over the course of three days from Monday, July 29 through Wednesday, July 31.

Registration for either camp can be completed by going to Graham High School’s website and selecting Summer Athletic Camps under the Athletics tab.

The football camp will be divided into two groups based on age and grade. The first camp will be for incoming third through sixth graders and will run each day from 8-10 a.m. The second group is for incoming seventh through ninth graders and will work from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Registration for the football camp is $50 and includes a T-shirt for each participant. Those who wish to participate should register by the first day of camp, Monday, July 29. The camp will take place at Newton Field, Graham’s high school football field.
Players will work on building football skills such as throwing, receiving, rushing and more.

Volleyball camp will be held for incoming sixth through ninth graders on the same days of Monday, July 29 through Wednesday, July 30. Camp will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. each day and will be held in the GHS main gym.

The camp costs $50 per participant and those who register by Thursday, July 19 are guaranteed a T-shirt. However, registration can continue until the first day of camp.

Players will work on passing, setting, hitting and receiving under the direction of head coach Marci Faulk and assistant coaches.
