One-Third of the City Council May Not Be Able to Vote on Renters’ Rights
Seattle City Council President Sara Nelson seems poised to wield the new conservative majority to claw back tenant protections, but she might not have as strong of an army as it seems. Council Members Maritza Rivera, Tanya Woo, and Joy Hollingsworth potentially carry conflicts of interests when it comes to voting on policies that shrink or boost landlord profits.
Tuesday Dots: The Wait is Over
At long last, the EA Sports College Football 25 game is out (on early access, but July 19th for the rest of us):. Christian Caple continues his B1G 101 series, this time diving into Penn State. And what do you know, Penn State’s annual White Out will be vs UW:...
Washington Fire Fighters Detain Fellow Officers Over Coffee Debt
This is one of the best pranks I have seen in a long time. Des Moines, Washington: Fire Department Pranks Police Over Coffee Bill. In the quiet suburban town of Des Moines, Washington, a friendly rivalry brewed between the South King Fire Department and the Des Moines Police Department, quite literally over coffee. It all began innocently enough, with the police officers dropping by Fire Stations 66 and 67 for a quick caffeine fix during their patrols. What started as a casual routine soon escalated into a lighthearted game of cat and mouse.
Seattle Seahawks Receiving Trio Ready to Soar Under New Coordinator Ryan Grubb
Seattle Seahawks aim to elevate their decorated receiving corps' potential under new coordinator Ryan Grubb, despite a historic performance in 2023 by DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The trio achieved milestones, yet the team believes there's room for improvement in their passing offense, ranked 14th in yardage and 20th in touchdowns last season.
Pete Carroll overshadowed by Bill Belichick even at the bitter end
The ending of Pete Carroll's career with the Seattle Seahawks did not seem so amiss. The team surprisingly relieved him of his coaching and Vice President of Football Operations duties and then allowed him to hold his own press conference. That seemed to be the classy - and right - thing to do.

The Kent Cornucopia Days Grand Parade took to the streets on Sunday, July 14 to entertain the crowd with dancing, music, politics and humor. Seattle Mariners Eyeing Brandon Lowe for Second Base Improvement in Trade Talks
The Tampa Bay Rays, once high-fliers, are now facing challenges, losing key players and struggling to maintain their previous form. With a mediocre record of 47-47, they might opt to trade top assets. Seattle Mariners, plagued by issues at second base, could find a solution in Brandon Lowe, a consistent performer for the Rays.

Seattle gained another nonstop flight to Taipei, Taiwan, today when China Airlines took off in the early morning hours. China Airlines’ flight marked the fifth new international service at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to launch in 2024. Seahawks Predicted to Land Quarterback With ‘High-Level Arm Talent’
The Seattle Seahawks could be looking at their next potential franchise quarterback. As the Seahawks enter the 2024 season, they’ll do so with Geno Smith as the starter for at least one more season. Head coach Mike Macdonald has already stated that Smith will be the starter entering the season, even following the addition of former Washington Commanders starting quarterback Sam Howell.
Mariners Trade Proposal: A 2 player trade from the Giants to fix multiple weaknesses
I'll beat this drum and mention it every time I write until the deadline, but the Mariners need offense. We've already talked about the positions that need to be updated and upgraded, and this current team just isn't good enough to make the playoffs despite sitting in first place as they enjoy the All Star break.
