GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) – Prepare to ring in the blueberry season at Red Fire Farm in Granby on Saturday.

Farms to visit to pick your own blueberries in western Massachusetts

According to Red Fire Farm, the event on Saturday will feature activities including blueberry pick-your-own in the farm’s organic berry patches, live music provided by indie multi-instrumentalist Zak Trojano, and a blueberry jam and canning how-to demo that will be led by farmer Sarah Voiland.

The celebration event is open to the public with no tickets required to enter from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, rain or shine. This event will also feature blueberry-themed food samples offered with recipes and frozen blueberry pops available for refreshments.

“Our blueberry bushes have a beautiful crop set this year and we are looking forward to having folks out to pick for their winter freezers and jam and just enjoying the fields,” explained Ryan Voiland, the owner of the farm.

Attendees will also get the chance to make their flower bouquets and the farm stand will be full of the season’s harvest. The farm expects the crop and fields to be open daily for picking through July and August with different blueberries ripening throughout.
