WESTFIELD — Servistar Realities is still interested in bringing a data center to Westfield, according to state Rep. Michael Finn (D-West Springfield). But a lack of state incentives has been a roadblock to development, he said, which the company is seeking due to the costs of running a data center.
2 drivers killed in separate crashes on western Massachusetts roads
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Two people were killed Thursday in two separate crashes on western Massachusetts roadways, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. At 10 p.m., a 17-year-old from Westfield was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Southampton Road in Westhampton. The teen, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Massachusetts seems to have a law for everything and while it makes sense for some things others are just strange. As we all know the 4th of July recently passed and Massachusetts is the only state that has a law against consumer fireworks including buying, selling, and using. Some folks agree with this law while others think it's complete nonsense. In addition, this law doesn't seem to be enforced in Massachusetts at least not in my area. So, why even have the law if it's not being enforced? Either way, the law is the law.
Sunday fundraiser in Holyoke to support family of Dexter Ortiz
HOLYOKE — Family and friends of Dexter Ortiz, 38, who tragically lost his life in a shooting on July 9, are organizing a fundraiser on Sunday. The fundraising event is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. at 63 West St. The proceeds will contribute toward covering the costs of Ortiz’s funeral services and the back-to-school expenses for his children.
Bellview Circle Water Main Replacement Starting Monday, July 22nd
Caracas Construction will begin work replacing the existing water main on Bellview Circle on Monday, July 22, 2024. Work is expected to last 2-3 weeks. All efforts will be made to maintain water service to residents during construction. A brief shutdown at the end of construction will be needed to allow crews to swap water services from the existing water main to the new water main.
