Woodman's Markets in Grand Chute was temporarily evacuated Friday afternoon after a fire started in a store bathroom, according to the Grand Chute Fire Department.

Authorities were alerted shortly after 4 p.m. after black smoke was spotted at the grocery store, 595 N. Westhill Blvd., and the fire alarm started.

Fire crews arrived less than four minutes after being dispatched but found that the building's automatic fire sprinkler system had already extinguished the blaze, the department said.

Personnel remained on the scene for about 90 minutes assisting with shutting down the fire sprinkler system, water removal and ventilation.

The grocery store remains open, and no damage estimate was immediately available. The fire department said no injuries were reported.

The fire is considered to be "suspicious in nature" and is being jointly investigated by the Grand Chute Fire Department and the Grand Chute Police Department.
