ASOTIN COUNTY - The Cougar Creek Fire is burning about 23 miles southwest of Asotin in timber grass and brush, near Highway 129. The fire is located in rugged rangeland with isolated pockets of timber in a mixed topography of ridgelines, benches, plateaus, and secondary drainages. The blaze was first reported around 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

WENATCHEE — Mercantile, a local co-working space company, is expanding with a second location on Wenatchee Avenue. Mercantile first opened its doors in 2019 at the Ellis-Forde building at 14 N. Oregon faces ‘challenging’ 36 hours, fire marshal warns
With high temperatures in the 90s and 100s over much of the state and thunderstorms possible, the Oregon State Fire Marshal is raising the alarm about fire dangers. “The next 24 to 36 hours are going to be extremely challenging with the weather forecast calling for thunderstorms to move across the state,” the office of the Oregon State Fire Marshal posted Saturday. “Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches are in place for much of the state.”
