Rice trial moved to Grand Forks County
The trial of the Minot woman charged with the 2007 murder of Anita Knutson has been reset to January in Grand Forks County following an order granting a change of venue. The notice of the change of the trial date and location for Nichole Erin Rice, 36, was filed on Thursday based on court records, having previously been scheduled for a three-week trial to begin on July 15. Court records now indicate that Rice’s trial will start on Monday, Jan. 6, and run three weeks in Grand Forks.
GF State’s Attorney rules officer-involved shooting as justified
GRAND FORKS, ND — The Grand Forks County States Attorney’s Office has deemed an officer-involved shooting that happened in Larimore as justified. The shooting happened back in March, when authorities say 43-year-old Troy Larson fired a gun at a SWAT vehicle during a standoff with police, and reached into his pocket when he was ordered to keep his hands up. Larson was wounded but survived.

GRAND FORKS COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The Grand Forks County States Attorney’s Office has cleared an officer who shot a man in Larimore, North Dakota, on March 23. The legal opinion released on Friday, June 21, says the actions of officers who shot 43-year-old Troy Larson were “objectively reasonable and justified in light of the circumstances.”

EGF motorcyclist injured in Saturday collision
(KNOX) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle crash four miles west of Grand Forks just before 8:30 Saturday night. A motorcycle was southbound on Grand Forks County Road 5, where the car slowed at the stop sign and continued through the intersection of 32 Avenue South and County Road 5, striking a car on the passenger side.
