GRAND FORKS, ND ( KXNET ) — Two people walked away from a crash without injury in Grand Forks on Friday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Interstate 29 just east of Thompson around 2:30 p.m.

A 57-year-old Winnipeg man was driving an International truck with a trailer on Interstate 29 when he hit a Freightliner.

The Freightliner, driven by a 62-year-old Bismarck man, was part of a roadway stripe-painting convoy that was leaving the Interstate on exit 130.

The driver of the International failed to see the slow-moving Freightliner and re-ended it.

The Freightliner did have the warning lights on and a traffic directional arrow board that directed traffic to the left, it also had a rear crash impact attenuator.

Drivers are being reminded to avoid distractions and to remain fully attentive to their surroundings and driving.
