Kindergarten teacher explains how to prepare for the first day

SPRING LAKE — Like her fellow teachers at Holmes Elementary School in Spring Lake, kindergarten teacher Mary Borchers has been hard at work this week getting ready to welcome her students for their first day of school on Monday, Aug. 26.

With 20 years of experience teaching this grade level under her belt, Borchers said she enjoys how eager and excited her students are to learn each year – as “everything is really new to them.”
