Trent Holleman entered into his junior year of college at Michigan State University this past week. As a nursing student, leading a Bible study, in bodybuilder training while also trying to keep up with friends and family, the Grand Haven resident says he relies on “his rock.”

“What’s on my mind? It’s a simple but loaded question with everything going on in life,” he said. “Big life changes have been thrown at me all at once. From the enjoyment of summer break, spending time with close friends and family at home, and earning some extra cash to the thrill, stress, anxiety and pressure to perform all being thrown at me at once. I feel like I’m tasked with fitting all these ingredients into a blender that’s too small and it’s overflowing blueberries and protein powder onto the kitchen counter. It’s oozing out the top, yet I still have to add my peanut butter to the shake. Not enough room to fit everything, and too many ingredients with a hand-me-down blender that does a shoddy job of mixing everything up, leaving it clumpy and inconsistent.
