From the Minnesota Foods class, where she learned culinary skills, to the Natural Resources and Agriculture Career pathway projects that introduced her to FFA, Aubrey’s curiosity knew no bounds. However, it was her deep dive into animal science with Mr. Linder that set her on a transformative path. Courses like Small Wildlife Management and Wide World of Animals not only expanded her knowledge but ignited a passion that would guide her future endeavors.

Small Wildlife Management, in particular, became Aubrey’s oasis, fueling her fascination with birds—a passion rooted in her childhood experiences of raising chickens with her family. This class became more than just an academic pursuit; it became a gateway to understanding the intricate beauty of nature.

Joining FFA and the wildlife team under Mr. Linder’s mentorship marked a turning point for Aubrey. Despite initial uncertainties and struggles with anxiety, she embraced the challenge and discovered a newfound sense of purpose. Her journey from anxiety to empowerment is a testament to the transformative impact of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and seizing every opportunity that comes one’s way.

Looking forward, Aubrey is set to embark on her university journey at the University of Minnesota Crookston, where she will major in natural resources and minor in wildlife management. Her dream of working with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reflects her commitment to conservation and her unwavering passion for wildlife.
