    Raiders Win Baseball Title

Coach Jim Rhodes and his Greenway Raiders won the regular season District 28 baseball crown Monday by Thumping Rapids, 17-4.

It was the 11th straight win for the Coleraine squad and qualified the te4am to enter the district tournament at Buhl Saturday as a favorite. Grand Rapids had 15 errors to assist the Raiders in compiling their 7-0 record in league play and 12-1 for the season.

Greenway lost only one game, an early-season tilt to Hibbing, and came back to defeat the Bluejackets later in the spring. The Raiders, with a young lineup which only has three seniors as starters, is co-favored with Hibbing for the playoff title.

Jim Dixon was the winning pitcher Monday, with Bob Lacroix taking the loss. Rich Ollila also hurled three innings for the winners and fanned eight batters. Ollila and Dixon have been tough on the mound, and Bill Predovich and Tom Holland are leading the hitters.
