    White Oak Antique Tractor Club hosting annual show on Aug. 24-25

    The White Oak Antique Tractor Club will host its 17th annual show and flea market on August 24-25 at the show grounds one mile north of Deer River on Highway 6. Admission and parking are free. The flea market will open on Friday, Aug. 23.

    Pancake breakfast will be served on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. There will be other food available on the grounds on Saturday and Sunday.

    This year’s feature will be “hit and miss “ engines with several displays and demonstrations throughout the show. A blacksmith will also be demonstrating his craft. Demonstrations of saw-milling, shingle mill, threshing and use of the hammer mill making flour and chicken feed will take place.

    The Country Store will be selling show souvenirs such as hats, t-shirts, and coffee cups as well as antique household items. The women’s activities will take place in the south end of the main building. They will be selling raffle tickets for two quilts as well as wonder wallets, coasters quilts and other handmade items.

    The tractor parade will take place at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Non members are welcome to display their tractors and join the parade. Free barrel train rides will available for children.

    The raffle tractor this year is a 1947 Ford 8-N. Raffle tickets will be sold during the show until 2 p.m. on Sunday and the drawing for the tractor and other prizes will be at 3 p.m. Other prizes are cash and the quilts.
