Concerts & cinema still in play on Listening Lawn

The kids may be heading back to school, but summer is still alive and well for the next few weeks, especially at Studio Park’s piazza.

On August 22, Michigan’s own May Erlewine will grace the stage, bringing her blend of folk, Americana, and roots to life. A skilled multi-instrumentalist from Big Rapids, Erlewine has captured hearts with her soulful voice and powerful lyrics, releasing over 15 albums since the early 2000s.

The series finale on August 24 will feature Grammy-nominated Scottish artist KT Tunstall. Known for her global hits “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See,” Tunstall’s dynamic performances and pioneering looping techniques have made her a standout in the music world.

Closing out the summer, Sunset Cinema returns on August 31 with a lineup of beloved films. First up is Back to the Future, the 1985 classic that follows Marty McFly, a teenager who accidentally travels back in time to 1955 in a DeLorean and has to make sure his parents fall in love to secure his own existence. On September 7, the contemporary romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians takes the screen, offering a vibrant portrayal of love, family, and cultural identity as it follows a New Yorker who discovers her boyfriend is one of Singapore’s wealthiest bachelors. Finally, on September 14, the cult favorite Clueless will play, a 1995 comedy inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma, set in Beverly Hills, and following the fashion-obsessed Cher Horowitz as she navigates high school life.

Each movie begins at 8 p.m. in the Studio Park piazza, with popcorn available or the option to come early and enjoy a meal at one of Studio Park’s eateries.
