GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Foodie Fest was back at Calder Plaza for the third year Saturday.

It was the festival’s second day. There were around 40 different food and merchandise vendors at the event selling everything from tacos, noodles and Korean corndogs to clothing and stuffed animals. The festival also had a beer tent, live music and entertainment.

Grand Rapids Fourth of July fireworks are Saturday night

Amanda Hadd, the founder of the festival, said the event is a way to show off the amazing food and chefs that are here in Grand Rapids and allow the community to come together and try out different flavors.

“We get to put different cultures, different flavors, different varieties and it’s just like that diversity is key. So I mean, food just brings everyone together and then when you throw in entertainment and shopping and other fun things, it adds a little flavor,” Hadd said.

What to do in West Michigan this weekend

    The three-day event started Friday and runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. To 6 p.m.
