The plaintiff was a 44-year-old woman who suffered significant injuries to her right foot necessitating various fusion surgeries.

The defendant who caused the crash was a mechanic who was working in his course of employment at the time of the crash. While test driving a customer’s vehicle, the defendant lost control when he overcorrected after attempting to change lanes. The vehicle crossed the center lane, hitting the plaintiff’s vehicle head on.

The parties engaged in significant discovery in which the plaintiff was able to uncover mountains of evidence contradicting the defendant’s version of events.

The case was ultimately tried. A unanimous jury found the defendants negligent and awarded the plaintiff $3.4 million for her injuries and damages.
