GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who robbed a bank south of Kentwood last July was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail.

The robbery happened July 6, 2023, at the Chase Bank branch on Kalamazoo Avenue north of M-6 in Gaines Township.

Police say Antonio Douglas, who is now 43 years old, handed a teller a note demanding money. He left with $500. The robber wore a dark bucket hat and a surgical mask along with a white shirt.

A Silent Observer tip led police to Douglas, who was on parole. A search of his home in Grand Rapids turned up clothes the robber was wearing.

Douglas has been in jail since his arrest last year. He was given zero days’ credit for time already served.
