The GRHS football team received a gracious donation from the Eagles and Ladies Auxiliary to purchase 22 “Q-Collars” for the team.

Q-Collars are a horseshoe-shaped pad that players wear around the back of their next to help prevent brain injuries during play.

According to the website, the Q-Collar “helps protect the brain from the damage caused by repetitive head impacts that can alter brain tissue. Athletes who were not wearing the Q-Collar were three times more likely to have significant changes in their brain tissue.”

Coach Greg Spahn says the players are already wearing them.
