Iowa State shows off new Hilton Coliseum video board
AMES, Iowa — Iowa State unveiled a long-awaited upgrade inside Hilton Coliseum Friday. Previous video above: Iowa State's Hilton Coliseum to see upgrades this summer. The home of several Cyclone sports will have a new video board. Iowa State posted photos of the new scoreboard on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Drake University Announces New Board of Trustee Members
Four new trustees join the Board, three members retire. Drake University is pleased to announce the next class of Board of Trustee members. The four new members include Esfand Dinshaw, Jeff Russell, Nikki Syverson, and Tiffany Tauscheck. The incoming trustees were approved by the Board earlier this year and began their initial three-year term of service on July 1, 2024. Additionally, Larry Zimpleman, Cathy Lacy, and Martha Capps have retired from the Board after completing their terms.

Robert Moore and artist-activist Jordan Weber will join Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of The 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones. The evening sees the three come together to talk about growing up in the predominately white state of Iowa, with a discussion that touches on their “…pursuits to bring wider and more nuanced stories of our American history to the forefront.”

End of July Start of August Events at Stuart Public Library
The Stuart Public Library is finishing up their events in July and getting ready to start the ones in August. Monday will be the monthly meeting of the cookbook club at noon, with a picnic theme. Anyone can attend or join the cookbook club, and bringing your favorite picnic food is encouraged. Also on Monday, the library will have their second to last summer reading program event with a colored chalk fun run at the Stuart Sports Complex. Coffee and Cribbage meets Tuesday and Friday at 10am, with gentle yoga Wednesday at 10am, and the Drop Everything and Read program Friday at 3pm.

The IKM-Manning School District Purchased Old St Anthony Clinic For New Alternative HS Program
The IKM-Manning School District has recently purchased the old St. Anthony Clinic in Manning to serve as the district’s new location for an alternative high school program. The building at 221 Ann St. will be utilized to create a program for high school students who find a traditional class setting challenging. Superintendent Dr. Angela Huseman says that while the district is just taking possession of the building, she is very hopeful and excited to have this initiative offered to IKM-Manning students.
