Accolades Continue to Come in for Karagyn Whelchel
Perry softball star, Karagyn Whelchel, continues to be recognized for her tremendous sophomore season. Whelchel was recently named to the All District team in 4A Northwest. The second basemen drove in 17 RBI’s. Her coach Tina Lutterman had this to say about her lead off hitter. “Karagyn is a true competitor. She finds ways to compete and keeps her teams involved in the game and she’s not going to go down without giving her all.” One of the most impressive stats is the amount of times she struck out. The Jayette had just 5 K’s in 97 at bats. She added a team high 23 runs scored and 44 hits. The future looks bright for the Perry standout as she still has another two years ahead of her.
