Longtime swim dock at Howard Amon Park retired due to increase in cyanotoxins
RICHLAND, Wash. - The swim dock at Howard Amon Park in Richland was removed from the water for good on Tuesday. Richland Parks and Recreation says the dock, which was placed on the shoreline midway between Lee Boulevard and Newton Street, was removed out of caution for the increased presence of cyanotoxins in the water over recent years, including in summer 2023 when levels higher than recreational guidelines were found.

Ziah Sneva remembers all the long drives to Pullman. The Peninsula Seahawk 6-foot 2-inch senior middle blocker and outside hitter has been going to Washington State Cougars football and volleyball games since she was in fifth grade. Collins Aerospace breaks ground on Spokane facility expansion
Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has marked the ground-breaking of its expansion at the Spokane carbon brake production facility. Local government officials, community leaders, industry partners and Collins Aerospace leadership gathered to celebrate this milestone at the manufacturing site. The expansion will add 70,000 ft² to the facility, increasing its footprint by 50% to enhance production capacity.
ARCA Menards West Series: Takuma Koga Making History
Japanese driver Takuma Koga has been a regular in the NASCAR West Series (now the ARCA Menards West Series) since his debut in 2002 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA. After entering the “Club of 100” at the end of 2022, that is, the club of drivers who have made 100 or more starts in the West Series (ranking led by the late Jack Sellers with 282 races), he has just broken a new record during the last race held at Tri-City Raceway in West Richland, WA, on August 10.
