Powell resident Jhett Schwahn, 19, is thankful he always wears long pants when he hikes. Earlier this month, it might’ve saved his life from a rattlesnake bite. On July 8, Schwahn and his girlfriend were hiking down from the summit of 8,123-foot Heart Mountain in northwest Wyoming when Schwahn was suddenly bitten by a rattlesnake in the late afternoon hours. He heard no rattle from the reptile that pounced out from a bush near the trail.
Gillette City Council approves appointments for 2 Municipal Court judges
GILLETTE, Wyo. — On Tuesday, the Gillette City Council approved the appointment of two part-time municipal court judges. Following a July 16 decision by the council, Alison O. Gee and Christopher R. RSHS boys soccer team hosts loteria fundraiser
The Rock Springs High School Tigers boys soccer team is hosting a Loteria Night fundraiser on Saturday, July 20th, at the Crossroads Park Pavilion, 744 Gookin-White Mountain Road in Rock Springs. Loteria is similar to bingo and is played with a deck of cards instead of numbered balls. The event will begin at 6 p.m., with Mexican Bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will support the RSHS boys soccer team.
