Knights Host Legion West District Class A Tournament
GREEN RIVER – The Knights are ready to host the 2024 Wyoming American Legion West District Class A Tournament this weekend with the first game Friday at 10 a.m. Other teams who are competing in the tournament are Cody, Evanston, Lovell, Powell, Rawlins, Riverton, and Saratoga. The final four teams will qualify for the Class A State Tournament in Powell from July 26-31.

Green River’s 2nd “Street Eats” food truck event is tonight
Expedition Island will once again host “Street Eats on the Green,” a family-friendly food truck evening. Black Butte Coal Company initiates a second round of layoffs in Rock Springs
More layoffs are coming to surface coal miners in Sweetwater County, just about eight months after the first round of layoffs. According to reporting from Sweetwater Now, 30 Black Butte Coal Company employees are likely being laid off. That’s almost a third of the company’s current 94 workers. Wyoming Public Media hasn’t been able to independently verify the total layoff numbers, as Black Butte didn’t respond by press time. However, Sweetwater Now reported they first heard word of the layoffs from anonymous sources last week.
