All of my siblings went to college, I was the youngest in my family, and I was expected to go to college as well. I went to what is now called Central Washington University. Rounds of thunderstorms moving across the Northwest may trigger a dry lightning outbreak across parts of Oregon, California and Nevada, which could quickly spark fires in those regions recently facing record-breaking temperatures and dry conditions.
Fire near State Route 20 prompts Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuation orders
TWISP, Wash. — Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuations have been ordered due to a fire burning near State Route 20. The fire was reported to firefighters around 1 p.m. and is currently active in the vicinity of State Route 20. Evacuation orders are in effect for the area east of Upper Beaver Creek, Frazer Crossing Road and Twisp. The fire called the Frazier Fire is estimated to be 175 acres and has a dozer line around it.

KENDRICK - Crews continue to battle the Texas Fire, located east of Kendrick on the Latah/Nez Perce County line. According to a Sunday morning update from officials, the fire size is estimated at 1,575 acres and is 20% contained. The fire area grew by only 32 acres between Thursday and Saturday. No growth was reported between Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
