Colfax approves design review permit for O'Reilly Auto Parts
The Colfax City Council approved the design review permit for the proposed O’Reilly Auto Parts at 781 S Auburn Street during its July 24 meeting. The retail chain is proposing a new 6,890-square-foot one-story building on the site, which is currently vacant. Kathy Pease, a planning consultant for the city, said the building’s design would be harmonious with other development and buildings in the area and would include clay masonry, brick and stucco. The parking lot is slated to include electric vehicle charging stations.

House fire reported on Sylvan Creek Court in Citrus Heights
CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A one-story house caught fire Monday morning in Citrus Heights, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said. Fire crews were dispatched around 10:08 a.m. to a property on Sylvan Creek Court off Sylvan Road. The house's interior sustained moderate to major damage but the fire was extinguished and contained to the building of origin, Sac Metro Fire said.
