Marble Falls man shares frustration with Tesla Insurance after April hailstorm
MARBLE FALLS, Texas - An April hail storm that hit Marble Falls left Zane Weathers’ Tesla Model 3 pretty banged up. "I was actually driving it while it was happening," said Weathers. "It has holes like three, four inches big." Being insured through Tesla, he quickly filed a claim.
Snackin’ through the summer
Operation Liberty Hill’s Summer Snack Program is in full swing. The program began at the end of the school year and will continue until Aug. 13. Students who attend Bertram, Briggs and Liberty Hill Independent School Districts and qualify for the free or reduced price lunch program are eligible to receive the snack bags.
Ronald Raymond Krengel
Ronald Krengel was called Home on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 88 years of age. He was married to Elsa Krengel (Klatt) for 59 years. He is survived by his three children, Pamela Krengel, Douglas Krengel and Russel Krengel; as well as, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Faith and family were key tenants in his life. Ron was also an award-winning expert on the production side of the newspaper business. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 11:15 a.m. CST at ACTS Church in Lakeway, Texas. His interment will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. CST in Forest Park, Illinois at Concordia Cemetery.

City Manager Novo inks $158K contract with Granite Shoals
Sarah Novo has officially dropped the “interim” from her Granite Shoals city manager title after signing a new $158,000 contract with the city. The City Council offered her the full-time job on May 29, and after a month of negotiations, she accepted. The council discussed her contract in executive session during its regular meeting on June 25 and voted unanimously to accept the terms after reconvening in open session.

Hands-On Learning: TLU Hosts Science Mill Camps for Local Students
(June 28, 2024 | Seguin, Texas) The inception of the Science Mill was something of a stroke of brilliance. An old feed mill, built in the late 1800s, stood in the heart of the little town of Johnson City in the Texas Hill Country. It was a landmark in the community—and although it ceased operation as a mill in the 1980s— about a hundred years after it had come into being—it still stood, an icon along US-290. It was converted into a restaurant and entertainment complex, but then, in 2012, was purchased by the Science Mill, a 501(c)3 non-profit. About three years later, it opened to the public, and now serves as the ultimate fieldtrip destination for area children—as well as curious adults.

Marble Falls cancels patriotic parade
Ordinators reported a lack of entries. “The city of Marble Falls Parks and Recre ation Department regrets to announce the cancellation of this year’s 4th of July parade due to insuf- ficient entries," according to a statement on July 1. “Despite concerted efforts to encourage participation and celebrate our nation’s independence in grand style, the depart- ment received fewer en tries than anticipated.
