First-Ever Restaurant on Lake Tuscaloosa Aims to Open in August
An already successful local business owner is weeks away from opening the first-ever full-service restaurant on the banks of Lake Tuscaloosa. Justin Holt owns Southern Ale House in north Tuscaloosa, which celebrated 10 years of service earlier this year, and also recently opened the Deli Press, a newspaper-themed sandwich shop across McFarland Boulevard from his first restaurant.

Jayla West-Young stepped up for the Prattville Lady Lions basketball team on the biggest stage when they faced Enterprise in the Class 7A South Regional Final with a spot to the Final 4 on the line. West-Young came through with her biggest performance of the season, scoring 24 points to go with 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals to help the Lady Lions reach the Class 7A Final Four in Birmingham for the second consecutive season.
