CLANTON – Friday, 11:30 am August 2, 2024. Potential Tropical Cyclone Four is forecast to become Tropical Storm Debby on Saturday and cross Florida Sunday into early Monday. If the current track stays the same, no impacts will be seen across AL other than increased rip currents at the coast. However, even a small change in track can lead to large impact changes. For example, if the center of circulation ends up farther westward into the Gulf, the potential exists for additional intensification of winds and other impacts.

Millbrook Parents, 3-year-old daughter, test positive for meth, marijuana and amphetamine
On July 26, 2024, Millbrook detectives were contacted by the Elmore County Department of Human Resources with regard to a child endangerment case. Detectives were advised that a Millbrook couple, later identified as Hollie Moen, a 29-year-old Millbrook resident and Mitchell L. Harrison, a 31-year-old Millbrook resident, both having been tested positive for Methamphetamine and Marijuana during a DHR investigation. Their juvenile daughter, who is 3 years of age, tested positive for Methamphetamine, Marijuana and Amphetamine.

Alabama’s newest Safe Haven Baby Box now in Jasper
JASPER, Ala. (WBRC) - A new Safe Haven Baby Box in Jasper is the seventh one in Alabama. It’s located at Jasper’s Fire Station on 18th Street. The baby box is a way for a mother who is in crisis to safely and privately surrender their newborn in the box. Once inside the box, a silent alarm is triggered. Firefighters will then rush the baby to the hospital for further medical evaluation.
