OPELIKA — Hayley Ponds, a rising senior at Opelika High School, was one of 25 high school seniors to attend the fifth Huntingdon College Economic and Community Development Scholars Program. Alabama football fans had some concerns after a defensive lineman missed the first two practices of fall camp. LT Overton, a transfer from Texas A&M, is expected to contribute across the front. The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder was one of the marquee recruits in the Aggies’ top-ranked 2022 signing class. He recorded 48 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack for Texas A&M in 23 games with four starts. Overton, a native of Milton, Ga., was not with his position group on Wednesday or Thursday.
