Missouri woman arrested on suspected drug distribution in Osage County
A Missouri woman was arrested on suspected drug distribution charges in Osage County on Monday. Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 37-year-old Kyra Merriman of Kansas City developed after an alleged traffic infraction. An Osage County K-9 unit stopped Merriman at US Highway 75 and 189th Road, about five miles north of Lyndon, and allegedly found illegal narcotics.

Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western football teams talk 2024 season at MIAA Media Day
(KANSAS CITY, MO) - The 2024 MIAA Football Media Day was held at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City on Tuesday. Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western gave their outlooks on the 2024 season. Both teams are coming off of winning records last season. Missouri Western finished eight and four and went to its first bowl game since 2019.
Mozingo board hears park updates
The Mozingo Advisory Board met on July 15, and heard park updates from Director Jordyn Greenhaw. The board was able to hear about the new and updated Mozingo website. The site is more current and user friendly, plus the staff is able to edit it much easier than the previous site. A new brochure has been completed that features a full map of the park. Also staff recently went through the various trails at Mozingo with a GPS. Greenhaw hopes that a complete trail map will be finished soon as well.

SJPD arrests suspect in connection with shooting near First Ward House on July 14th
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The St. Joseph, Mo. Police Department announced that they had arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting near First Ward House. Columbia woman receives probation for nailing man in basement
A Columbia woman who nailed a man shut in a basement pleads down to one of the three charges filed against her. Alexis Fenton had been charged with third-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and third-degree kidnapping. She pleaded guilty Monday to the domestic assault charge and was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If Fenton violates her probation, she faces four years in prison.
