Crash Results in OWI Arrest and Other Citations
On Sunday, just after Midnight, theGrant County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a crash that had occured on Hunters Hollow Road in Mt. Ida Township. It was reported that several people were in a field with a truck trying to remove an SUV with airbag deployment after crashing through a gate and a fence. The initial Deputy at the scene located the vehicle, a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer, and its owner, 19 year old Glen Tydrich-Franke of Fennimore sitting beside it. Tydrich-Franke was cited for Underage Consumption of Alcohol and Failure to Report an accident. A subsequent investigation led to the driver of the vehicle, 18 year old Nolan Schoepp of Fennimore being located in the City of Fennimore. Schoepp was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated 1st offense and cited for Failure to Maintain Control. No injuries were reported. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Terry’s Tire and Tow.
A one-vehicle rollover resulted in an OWI arrest.
On June 22, 2024, at 7:43 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a 2000 Ford F350 overturned on Doug Way Road in Bloomington Township. The driver of the vehicle, Kevin Doering, 62, of Lancaster, told deputies that heavy rain caused the truck to veer off the road and roll down a steep embankment. Doering was arrested on suspicion of OWI (1st offense), and the vehicle was removed from the scene by Milo’s Towing.

NWS confirms tornado in Grant County
The National Weather Service at La Crosse has confirmed an E-F-Zero Tornado west of Platteville Saturday Afternoon in Cornelia. The tornado touched down from 5:37 p.m. to 5:38 p.m. in Grant County with peak winds at 75 mph. The path length was 6/10th of a mile with a maximum width of 50 yards. Tree damage was reported near County Road O between Tennyson and Cornelia. No structures were hit. An E-F-Zero Tornado has wind speeds from 65-85 miles per hour.
Muscoda Vehicle Accident
Authorities believe a medical event was the cause of an accident in Northern Grant County on Monday Afternoon. Muscoda Police report 64 year old Eric Rossing of Richland Center was driving north on Wisconsin Avenue when his vehicle left the road and struck St. John the Baptist Church. Eric Rossing was transported to an area hospital by Muscoda EMS.
