EVANS, CO - On September 17th and 18th, the City of Evans will commemorate Heritage Days, marking 736 days since Evans' trademark event. The city celebrated the event for the last time in 2019 as the 2020 festival was canceled due to the rapid spread of the unique COVID-19 virus.

Mayor Brian Rudy said they have been separated due to health concerns, but at Heritage Days, they will be able to rejoin and celebrate the city's traditions.

The JBS Fireworks Show, which begins at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, will cap off the festivities. Rival Services and PDC Energy are among the sponsors of the two-day event, which begins at 4 p.m. on Friday at Riverside Park.

A rockin' lineup of live music, tasty food trucks, a beer garden, games for kids, and a range of family-friendly activities are among the night's events.

Mayor Rudi added that they had fireworks for the 150th Anniversary celebration in 2019, and everyone loved them so much that they decided to do it again. It's a fantastic way to reintroduce Heritage Days after a year apart.

Following a fantastic night of fireworks sponsored by JBS, the celebrations move to City Park on Saturday morning for the Evans Fire Protection District's annual Heritage Days pancake breakfast. The brunch will be accompanied by live music, and the morning will end with the always-popular community parade.

Several marching bands from Greeley-Evans School District 6, the Evans Police Department, the Evans Fire Protection District, and other local groups will participate in the parade.

Lance Snow, Manager at Evans Communications said that this year's celebration is particularly crucial, everyone needs something to unite around and feel good about, and Heritage Days are the ideal way to do so.

There is no admission fee on both days.
