The Wisconsin State Fair has always been one of the highlights of my summer. The last two summers I had the incredible opportunity to work for the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board, caring for and milking the demonstration dairy herd and educating fairgoers about our state’s impressive $45.6 billion dairy industry in Dairy Lane. Black River Falls Woman Found Competent to Stand Trial in Homicide Case
(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A woman is found competent to proceed in a homicide case that started as a missing person investigation, according to WEAU staff. According to online court records, during a competency hearing on July 2, 2024, 50-year-old Star Myers of Black River Falls was found competent to proceed. Meet the Hayward ‘bog pushers’
Early this summer, a 200-ton peat bog sprouting mature, 40-foot Tamarack pine trees was blocking a waterway in the Lake Chippewa Flowage in northern Wisconsin. The bog — inaccurately known as an island — was lodged near a bridge, effectively splitting the 15,300 acre lake in two. If the bog remains in place, boats can’t cross from one side of the bridge to the other. It had to be moved.
