Leadership Carroll literacy service project deemed a success
The 2024 Leadership Carroll cohort, hosted by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, has successfully completed a community service project to support literacy in Carroll County! In partnership with Ferst Readers, the West Georgia Regional Library System, and Tanner Health System, they developed family literacy kits for families with newborns delivered at Tanner in July 2024. The group aims to generate further support for local literacy programs, highlighting that 37% of children lack necessary skills upon entering kindergarten. With 85% of brain development occurring by age three, early literacy efforts are crucial.

Ex-Falcons WR Frank Darby signs 1-year deal with 49ers
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have signed former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Frank Darby to a one-year contract. Darby, 26, was selected by Atlanta in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft out of Arizona State. Darby managed to stick around for all three years under former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith, appearing in 16 career games. KJ Bolden, recently the anchor of Buford football’s secondary, might be on his way to a seamless transition to the next level with the Georgia Bulldogs. Bolden arrived at Georgia after a highly-publicized recruiting race. He pledged to Florida State, but flipped to the Bulldogs on early signing day last December.
