New Michael Pilato Mural to Be Installed in Downtown Bellefonte
A new mural by artist and Centre County native Michael Pilato will soon adorn the exterior of the Waffle Shop in downtown Bellefonte. Pilato will install the mural celebrating several aspects of the borough's history beginning Aug. 2 during the Bellefonte Arts & Crafts Fair, according to an announcement from the Waffle Shop. It will be located near the new "Air Mail" mural installed in May on Perry Lane by artists Key Detail. PennDOT Sets Next Public Meeting for State College Area Connector Project
PennDOT has moved to the next phase for the planned State College Area Connector and will hold its first public meeting on the project since 2022 in August. The department and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) published on Wednesday a Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement. The notice initiates the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) phase of project development, which includes preliminary engineering and environmental studies. Christine Williams Ayoub was born on Feb. 7, 1922, in Cincinnati, Ohio and died on July 18, 2024 in State College, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late William Lloyd Garrison Williams and the late Anne Sykes Williams.
