Man gets up to 20 years prison for Hartington shooting death
HARTINGTON -- A Louisiana man was sentenced Monday to up to 20 years in prison for the fatal shooting of a co-worker near Hartington. District Judge Bryan Meismer sentenced David Phillips Jr., 22, to four to 20 years in prison for the March 1, 2023, shooting death of Israel Matos-Colon. Phillips will be credited for 509 days already spent in custody since his arrest.
