World’s Longest Yard Sale comes to NKY this week
Covington’s Mainstrasse Village and Heritage Fellowship, a church in Florence, will serve as sites in the World’s Longest Yard Sale from Thursday to Sunday. Also known as the 127 Yard Sale, the annual event occurs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 4 and spans six states: Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. In total, the sale spans about 690 miles. The NKY stops serve as the first two stops in the event’s Kentucky route.

Voinovich School wins funding for electronic aviation upgrade
The runway to electrically powered aviation just got a little shorter in Southeast Ohio. In mid-July, Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service received a $500,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission’s Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE) initiative.
