‘Diverging Diamonds’ Interchange Patterns Emerging in Tennessee
A unique traffic route may be coming to an interstate new you. However, it may cause you to drive on the “wrong” side of the road. It’s called a Diverging Diamond Interchange (or DDI for short) and the first DDI in middle Tennessee opened at the end of May in Spring Hill on Interstate 65 at June Lake. More of these unique intersections are planned for the middle Tennessee area.
Man wanted in shooting of Tennessee trooper arrested in Caldwell Co.
A suspect in the shooting of a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper has been arrested in Caldwell County. Kentucky State Police said Blaze Rucker, 29, was an occupant in a vehicle along with another male when, on Friday, a Tennessee trooper conducted a traffic stop on I-40 in Putnam County near the Burgess Falls exit. During the stop, Trooper Adam Cothron was shot, with the vehicle then fleeing the scene.

2 women face charges after $51K in meth seized at Chattanooga home
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Two women now face charges in Hamilton County after authorities say they found almost a pound and a half of methamphetamine at a Chattanooga home. The bust happened with aid from a Chattanooga Police SWAT team as deputies executed a search warrant at the home on the 3600 block of 3rd Avenue Monday, according to a release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission is offering free FAFSA clinics to give Upper Cumberland families hands-on support while applying for federal student aid. Senior Outreach Director Jason Seay said they have always had FAFSA workshops at high schools and colleges throughout the state but families need more support this year. Seay said last year’s revamping of the system has led to technical issues and some parental concerns.

Dunlap Fire Department Responds to Smoke Alarm at NHC
Just after 3:00 Sunday morning, the Dunlap Fire Department was dispatched to NHC on Dell Trail for a fire alarm. Smoke in the building activated the alarm. Employees reported smoke in the west wing and located a malfunctioning air conditioner in an empty room. They shut the door to the room and alerted maintenance. Maintenance cut power to the unit, and firefighters verified that no fire was present in the room.
