    School starts in Great Falls next week. Keeps these important times and dates in mind

    Another school year is about to begin for Great Falls students.

    The first day of school for Great Falls Public Schools is Wednesday, Aug. 28, followed by another short week after the Labor Day on Monday.

    Here are some important dates to know about for the 2024-25 GFPS school year.

    Great Falls Public Schools daily schedules

    Elementary schools

    Start time: 8:20 a.m.

    Dismissal: 3:20 p.m.

    Wednesday early dismissal: 2:45 p.m.

    Middle schools

    Class start: 7:45 a.m.

    Dismissal: 3 p.m.

    Wednesday early dismissal: 2:15 p.m.

    High schools

    Start time (CMR): 8:05 a.m.

    Start time (Great Falls High): 8 a.m.

    Dismissal (both): 3:15 p.m.

    Wednesday early dismissal

    CMR: 2:35 p.m.

    Great Falls High: 2:45 p.m.

    Holidays/schools closed in Great Falls

    • Labor Day: Monday, Sept. 2
    • Staff PIR Days: Thursday, Oct. 17, Friday, Oct. 18
    • End of Quarter 1: Friday, Nov. 1
    • Fall Break (Thanksgiving): Wednesday, Nov. 27-Friday, Nov. 29
    • Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 23-Friday, Jan. 3
    • Staff PIR Day: Monday, Jan. 20
    • End of Quarter 2: Friday, Jan. 24
